George Rehrey, director of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Program at Indiana University and a TRESTLE leader, hosted a workshop at the KU School of Engineering January 13th, 2017. The workshop guided attendees through a theoretical model to address bottlenecks in their course. Bottlenecks are areas where students often have difficulty or misconceptions. George presented ways for faculty to make the implicit knowledge of experts more explicit for students in their courses and also to assess whether students are applying their critical thinking.
